Mission #4 - Facing Facts

You’re pulled from the field and summoned to the home office at Control’s behest. You’ve worked with this regional commander before, and know he’s not the type to withdraw
field team without reason.

“Ladies and gentlemen,” he begins, “you may be familiar with a recent Australian mission to determine the source of a hack targeting our computer system — indeed, some of you may
have taken part. Thanks to the data and human intelligence recovered after that mission, we have reason to believe that an as-yet-unidentified criminal organization seeks to upload
a virus to the primary computer server for the New York Stock Exchange.

“This virus has been programmed to invert bid and sell orders, causing untold chaos as part of some greater plot. The organization didn’t tell the hacker when they planned to use
the program, but fortunately for us, he’s the paranoid sort and built a back door option into the code. He’s offered to track its use in exchange for amnesty.

“We need you to go in on the ground and find the virus before it’s unleashed. We can get you a starting position and R&D will provide you with a device to track the program
within 20 ft. once you’re in the area. “We also need you to learn all you can about our new foes. We have a feeling that we’re only seeing part of a very dark picture here.

“Until we know more about the enemy, this operation must remain strictly low-key. You are forbidden from daytime operations and you must take every precaution against
alerting anyone to your presence — even if it means keeping the enemy quiet as well. No police, no witnesses. We need this assignment to remain absolutely inside the family. Are
we clear?”

Mission Briefing

The Agents get a call help a diplomat in the city of Windhoek, all the way in Africa. This mission is tricky as the agents may only bring small items into the mission zone via diplomatic baggage. Our agents, took standard safari gear, small weapons, and some local currency in case they need to procure any additional gear locally.

Scene #1 – Into Africa

The agents arrive in Windhoek and choose to gather more info at the local embassy. At the embassy they talked to the diplomat, Holger Beckmann who requested the agency’s help in the first place. They learn nothing new but are advise to go meet the chief of police to learn more details of the crime.

Atlas and JoJo went to confirm the Chief of Police, Patrick Muwambe at the station and learn that there was a witness name Herr Dieter Hehsemann who saw the kidnapping happen and report. On the way out of the station, they are approached by Frau Anke Wiese. Anke is outraged about the general media’s coverage of the kidnapping, which blames the incident on the escalating conflict between the Himba people and the central government of President Sam Nujoma over the Epupa Falls power station project. Wiese feels strongly that this is ridiculous. She knows the Himba to be a very traditional and kindly people who excel at surviving with the scarce resources provided by the desert. In her opinion, all these unfortunate tribesmen are guilty of is falling victim to a government that doesn’t allow them to live the life they choose. She speculates that the government might have prompted the incident in order to produce leverage to use against the Himba, speeding up the economically important project, but since she doesn’t have any evidence, She does offer to take the agents to meet the Himba people but they declined and choose to go and talk to Hehsemann first.

At Hehsemann apartment, just Atlas goes in and interview Hehsemann, an ascetic white, dark brown-haired man of 35 years of age, Hehsemann has a nervous tick: when confronted directly, his left eye begins to twitch. He claims to have seen the girls disappear into an alley, followed by a 90s-model white Toyota all-terrain vehicle. The car’s four passengers looked to be members of the Himba tribe, a backward sect living to the northwest. Hehsemann identified them by their slender build and the elongated shape of their heads, claiming after 30 years in the bush he could “smell the origin of a native, if need be”. After Hehsemann heard a car accelerating in the alley, he went to have a look and spotted the same car speeding away and disappearing around a corner. The girls were nowhere to be seen, but could have exited the alley, so Hehsemann wasn’t immediately suspicious. But when the Allgemeine Zeitung reported the girls missing, Hehsemann remembered the incident and immediately went to the police.

The team hints that they might travel north to the Himba, Hehsemann offers to act as their guide, claiming to know experienced hunters who can help. The price he demands is not outrageous, but rather stiff — a flat fee of $2,000 for the entire trip. Reluctantly the agents agree to this price and agreed to depart as soon as possible,

Scene #2 – Hunted

Far off the beaten path, Hehsemann leads the agents to a group of experienced hunters, though discreet investigation reveals them to be poachers. The agents however choose to rest the night and not do anything as they believe this is just a pit stop before the Himba camp.

During the night, the agents awake to an empty camp, blood soaking the tents to attract roaming lions, supposedly providing the cover-up for a “tragic hunting accident.” The agents
mange to kill off the lions and survive. They find their off-road vehicle sabotaged. Fortunately, the agents manage to catch one of poachers and force them to talk. They poachers shows the agents to their boss encampment where he is keeping the girls hostage.

Scene #3: Rescue

The agents reach the Bandit’s hideaway, following directions from the captured poacher. The bandits’ hideaway is a paramilitary base nestled in an old, long dried-out confluence of the Okavango River, called ‘serpent valley’ in the local language.

Nemesis tries to dress up as one of the guards and sneak in, however he failed to realize he doesn’t speak German like the other guards, and was gunned down.

JoJo takes a risk by allowing herself to be captured ( without weapons ) and taken to the boss, there she manages to disarm the boss, free the 2 girls, why Atlas and Donut clear the minions outside.

Mission Log

Our Agents, went to meet Agent Que, who provided them with some standard equipment for this list, plus fulfilled a special request by Circe, which was to have a company credit card.

Scene #1 – Arriving at Plaza Athenee Hotel

Upon arriving at Plaza Athenee, the party violated the most sacred rule ever, “NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY”.

Donut waited in the Car, while Circe went to the receptionist for Inquiry with Echo following behind to find out which room is Eric staying in. Atlas was at the Lobby keeping an eye on things. Upon getting the information from the receptionist, Circe and Echo met with Eric Sienski, and learnt that Russian Mafia boss, Alexie Kamenev in the Penthouse above, and his plan to purchase nerve gas from someone called Andre Gauthier. What is worst that Kamenev demands a live demonstration of the gas today at 3pm. The agents try to convince Eric to come with them but Eric says that he is going to slip back into the mafia ranks as they don’t suspect him yet. To earn the Agent’s trust, Eric agrees to wear a wire, so the agents can hear the situation

The agents update each other on the situation. Circe and Echo went to the bar purchased the most expensive wine, and pretended to be a drunk lesbian couple going up to the penthouse. Their cover story was they got drunk and started pressing random buttons. Circe and Echo arrived at the Penthouse got caught by Alexie Kamenev and his bodyguard but manage to convince him to let them go by promising him a good time later.

Alexie Kamenev and his bodyguard leave the Penthouse, Echo follows them to the hotel’s restaurant and proceeds to keep an eye on him. Circe and Atlas break into the Penthouse while they have the chance and found out that Kamenev left his wallet on the desk, and Echo warns them the bodyguard has left the restaurant, most likely coming back to take the wallet.

Donut finds out Kamenev car is, and plants a bomb under it. Donut also checks out the lobby of the hotel and study some pamphlets. He discovers there is a fashion show happening down town and tons of VIPs going to be there.

Agents get caught hiding in the Penthouse ( due to me rolling high for the bodyguard’s search skill ) and battle breaks out. Atlas manages to injure Kamenev’s bodyguard, but Circe double taps him ( with his own gun ). Agents leave with Kamenve’s wallet. Back the the restaurant, Kamenev gets a phone call ( Echo who is near by only manages to hear the parts Kamenev speaks )

Kamenev mosts to his car, and drives away, the agents try to activate the bomb which was planted by Donut, but realize that Kamenev took a different car. The Agents put the clues together. With a successful education check( and the help of Google on smartphones ), the agents recognize the words, “visionary breath of desire” as the slogan for Thierry St. Martin’s new fragrance, Voracious, which is scheduled to make its world debut at the company’s new product rollout — at 2pm today, in 1hour 30 minutes. The company is also known for its well publicized, exclusive contracts with celebrity spokespersons, many of whom are will be on site at the rollout

The agents, acquire a ride from the hotel ( using the money from Kamenev’s wallet ). They get stuck in traffic but still manage to reach in time ( at 1.30pm ) before the product roll out

Scene #2 – Let the show be interrupted

Circe manages to bluff her way into the fashion show while Donut and Atlas use the invitation which was taken along side Kamenev’s wallet ( had 2 only ). Echo becomes a moron and climbs the roof of the building. Donut manages to sneak into the toilet and prepare to create a distraction ( by making a small bomb and exploding it ). This goes badly as someone assaults him while he was making his bomb, he does managed to knock him out cold

The Agents still didn’t manage to find the contaminated perfume cans, and Andre Gautheir activates his plan B ( since the agents didn’t kill him in the first scene and also made their presence known he prepared a small bomb to release the nerve gas ). Andre detonates his nerve gas bomb. Panic is created and everyone is running out, Donut detonates his bomb to create a make shift escape for the agents

- Echo needs to escape the roof top she is on so she swings down and regroups with the group. The Agents receive intel from the agency that Kamenev was sported at his private Yatch and getting ready to leave. The Agents head to a nearby TV-station to “rent” a helicopter. ( They also promises the newspaper reporter a story of her life time )

Scene #3 : The Aurora Vale

- The Agents arrive and decide their best option is to blow up the Yatch that Kamenev is on

- Successfully blew up the Yatch and captured him alive.
